I found myself in need (ahem) of some needles t'other day. "Self," said I, "I need some needles." "Let us buy some," said Self. "But I, what kind would we like?" "Well, Self" said I,"We do quite like the Inox circulars. We were using them on the Sea Creatures Shawl, and they are Awfully Pointy." "I," said Self, "Inox we shall buy."
And off I went to Webs. Well, the site, anyway.
(Yes, I am being twee. But what would you do with an extremely over-tired, screaming, three-year-old on a time-out for hitting you in the background?)
My love of small needles is well-documented, so I decided to get a whole bunch. And while I was at it, I thought that, perhaps, I should get some bigger needles, as bigger might be a wee bit better for the shawl.
And, why, look! They have Noro Silk Garden on close-out! I know someone who used it for her Lady Eleanor, which I've been dying to make for over a year now. And it ends being just a smidge less than the Kureyon, even at discount.
So here we are:
Although I tried to get an accurate-ish picture of the Noro color, I didn't try very hard; every single site I looked it up on had something different, so why should I hope to be any luckier? It is much softer than I expected it to be; I'm hoping it will be a nice scarf-shawl.
And I'm a wee bit disappointed in the Inox dpns; they're not nearly as sharp as I hoped they'd be. However, they do make a lovely clink-le as I knit, and they're much less likely to bend sturdier than the Big Box Craft Store purchase.
The small child has been coaxed to sleep; perhaps I should leave as well also.
oh oh oh! i love silk garden and kureyon. i just love noro. the silk garden is full of "nature" but it will wash up beautifully and get softer!!

Oh, that color's gorgeous, at least on this monitor. (Seriously--with Noro, who knows what it looks like IRL? Learn to knit backwards before your start El--you'll save yourself hours!

I just made my first Webs purchase. I suspect it won't be my last. (I got Kureyon for an afghan... I think I might be crazy.)
